What is Coaching?
It is a methodology both procedural and relational, a partnership (between a Coach and his Customer) focused on the development and training of personal potentialities (those called “Character Strengths” by the popular psychologist Martin E.P. Seligman)
The ultimate purpose of Coaching relationships is not suggesting tips or issuing miraculous recipes, but letting Customers elaborate and realize, through their resources and their personal potentialities, all the programs and goals they wish to achieve.
Schematically, it is possible to affirm that Coaching is based on:
What is Coaching useful for?
The most important thing to specify is that Coaching does not “work on problems” or on people’s psychopathologies.
Coaching is a method useful to accompany Customers to their “desired future”, where happiness is born from the Customer’s “journey” to the achievement of goals. The use of one’s own potentialities, the improvement of self-efficacy and the work on emotional awareness become the fundamental ingredients of the business, sport or personal Coaching process.
Coaching lets people:
To whom is Coaching useful?
Generally, Coaching may be useful for anyone. It must be clarified that there are no contraindications.
A Coach is neither a psychologist, nor a “guru” or a Consultant; a Coach is a relationships expert, a professional duly trained (and recognized in accordance with 2013 law no.4 would be better), a “searcher of potentialities”, who creates a creative relationship useful to accompany people to their desired future. Coaching is useful for all those cases in which an exchange with an expert may produce healthy effects in the improvement of performances and in the achievement of goals.
How to choose a Coach?

What is the company’s history?
During the last ten years we have worked with both big companies and little entities in Italy and abroad, always accompanying our Customers to the improvement of performances and results. We have worked with thousands of people and trained hundreds of Coaches: this allowed us to constantly develop and improve our training program in quality. For years, we have prepared ourselves, trained and developed to be able to provide the best Coaching and be included among the best Italian professionals. We think that growing up, improving and acquiring new skills are a fact of coherence; managing satisfying relationships and being motivated has become, over years, an “operative model” to provide all our Customers with.
To whom is Coaching Training addressed?
Prometeo Coaching training programs (recognized by the Associazione Coaching Italia association “A.Co.I.”) are accessible to anyone. Our Coaching School addresses to both graduates and people who, even without any degree, have acquired life and professional experiential basic knowledges and are able to assimilate all the concepts presented in our different Courses. Those who cannot boast sufficient experience may attend some “Beginners Courses”, or they can be supported by a Tutor from our School (an expert Professional Coach). Our School is not only a path to becoming a Professional Coach, but it is also recommended to entrepreneurs, managers, trainers, team leaders, psychologists and all those people who wish to use Coaching skills in their personal and professional life.
What kind of Coaching is taught?
We love defining our Coaching “Coaching with capital ‘C’ “. We are not a NLP School, we do not teach Psychology or Counseling, we are not interested in persuasion, spiritualism and all the “cultural contaminations” which have become very popular in Coaching Training over the last years. Our reference bibliography wides from psychology to Positive Psychology, from positive thinking to the great theme of happiness. We are inspired by those who can be considered the founding fathers of the method: Tim Gallwey and John Whitmore (that we keep following with great passion and dedication all around the world). Over years, we have accomplished a more complete definition of the Coaching method by gleaning the great works of Maslow for self-realization, Seligman and Peterson for Potentialities and the concepts of happiness, Deci and Ryan for their Self Determination Theory, Bandura for self-efficacy, Csikszentmihalyl for his theory about Flow and many others.

However, it is useful specifying that Coaching competence may be also used as a professional structure inside one’s own working activity and everyday life, certainly benefitting from it.

The process aspires to transfer specific skills to manage a Coaching relationship, useful to accompany the Customer to the desired future. The School’s Technical Manual (together with the use of paper, computer and audiovisual supports), allows to save a lot of time during learning. Our method lets Coaching-students experiment Coaching immediately.
What is the acquired qualification?
Coaching School issues a certification of study and attendance, which allows the attainment of the Certificate of Professional Qualification in accordance to the Law no.4, January 14, 2013. Such documentation lets the neo-Coach subscribe to the Associazione Coaching Italia association (A.Co.I.) and subscribe to its List of Professional Coaches.
What is the value of the Certification?
In Italy, there are no schools, institutions and companies able to issue Certifications (speaking of which, careful attention is needed).
The professional activity of Professional Coaches is regulated by Trade Associations, created after the issue of the Law January 14th 2013, no.4. For their kind of organization and operation, they are compared to more popular Order Systems and professional registers. They maintain a private setting and represent the only legal subject authorized to issue certifications of qualifications and assure professional quality.

A Coaching Course or School may issue recognized certifications of attendance only if three important pre-requisites exist:
These are the three characteristics to pay more attention to in the encounter of Coaching Courses and Schools.
In other words, in front of the word “certification” it is necessary to wonder: certificated by whom? What is certificated? What is the certification needed for?
Many certification are presented as “general”, such as “the ISO 9000 certification” or “international certifications”, as if certificating the training value through a piece of paper signed by any trainer or entrepreneur was possible.
Which Coaching School must be avoided?
